Chemistry classes in the church's kitchen, soccer in the parking lot, art class over carpet in the Sunday school rooms . . . .
Home Schoolers want to educate their children at home, but resources can be a bit slim. Home Works is that place where parents can still educate their children, but have the resources they need to do it well.
Home Works is the framework to support Central Virginia's growing Home School community, while preserving the integrity of the parent's place as the educator, of the individual cooperatives that meet all over the city, of sports teams and science clubs.
Home Works will be housed in a large building (supporting the growing Downtown community) with:
Home Works is a 'green' community, supporting recycling, using natural lighting and solar-powered electricity, gray water usage, chemical and pesticide-free, moving forward into the 21st century by training our children to take care of the earth (God's first assignment to Adam and Eve).
Community projects will be a standard, teaching by example to care for those less fortunate than ourselves. Home Works is intended to be a 501(c)(3) organization.
Homeschoolers will be able to come together to achieve a greater good for our community, and have a place to call home!
